Love Poems: Our Latest Obsession
Ahh, Valentine’s Day. The day that brings about thoughts of love to everyone—whether they like it or not.
On this particular holiday, love poems of all kinds are written by anyone and everyone. Enter Dizzy In Your Eyes by Pat Mora (in stores now).
The way the collection is organized is different than a usual anthology. Pat wrote each poem herself, but then changed the point of view of some to reflect that of a boy or girl. She also writes a few in Spanish, as well as some Spanglish (yes, Spanish and English combined).
Even though the poetry centers around love, the type of amour portrayed changes with each. Some talk about the typical loving a certain boy or girl, but then others discuss loving a sport. And even some delve into the love for a grandparent. So cute!
This book is a great read for people of all ages—especially those who like to recite or aspire to write poetry! So check out Dizzy In Your Eyes by Pat Mora and let us know which poem is your fave.
What do you think of Pat’s idea? Is poetry your thing? Blog about it, cuties.
