True Prep

True Prep by Lisa Birnbach is the sequel to The Official Preppy Handbookโ€”the international bestseller written in 1980 about what it was like to be preppy back then.
Now, 30 years later, Birnbach’s writing about what has changed in the prep world and what it means to be preppy in 2010. With her commentary on money, school, scandal and reality TV, you will not only learn how to be a true prep, but laugh a lot along the way, too.

This book is hilarious. Whether you are growing up preppy, know someone preppy, or have no idea what the word even means, you will chuckle the entire time. The humor is reminiscent of the original, and if you don't love it quite as much as the 1980 classic, it will be nothing short of an extremely close second. Birnbach certainly proves she hasn’t lost her sense of humor in the past 30 years.

What’s the best thing about this read? It will bridge the gap of generations. Your parents read the original, meaning they will be eager to read the newest version, too. Buy two copies โ€” one as a prezzie for your mom or dad. And why not suggest reading the book together as an oh-so-hilarious family night activity. As they say: “The family that laughs together, stays together.” Enjoy.

Be sure to delve into True Prep (in stores now) and let us know your thoughts.

What’s your definition of preppy? Blog about it, babes.
