Some of my best friends are Undead

All over the country, a strange phenomenon is happening. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead.

They are coming back to life—but they are no longer the same. They stutter and their reactions to everything are slower. Termed "living impaired" or "differently biotic," they are doing their best to fit into society but when almost everyone else is alive and they’re not, it’s close to impossible.

The Generation Dead series from Daniel Waters follows all of the romance, drama and conflict that arise when you combine the usual trials and tribulations of high school with the rather unusual twist of the supernatural.

Generation Dead, the first book in the series, follows Phoebe Kendall, who’s just your average teen goth girl with a crush. It’s too bad the object of her affection, Tommy Williams, happens to be dead. Phoebe’s never exactly run with the popular crowd, but when conflicts arise over the rights of Tommy and the rest of the “differently biotic” in high school, things get even more complicated…

In the second book, Kiss of Life, Phoebe’s life gets even more complex when she finds herself torn between Tommy and Adam, her best friend who has a few new complications of his own. To make matters worse, the undead population has banded together, and the segregation between zombies and the living is only growing larger…

In Passing Strange, the third book in the series (out now wherever books are sold), all-American teenager Karen DeSonne faces more than the usual high school drama—she happens to be dead. Her troubles only multiply as she finds herself caught up in a high-profile scandal—new anti-zombie regulations that have forced nearly all of Oakvale’s undead into hiding.

Obtaining enough evidence to expose a sinister plot means doing the unthinkable for Karen: Betraying her true love and becoming the girlfriend of the one guy she truly cannot stand—Pete Martinsburg. Karen’s only hope is that the enemy never realizes who she really is—because the consequences would be even worse than death.
