Enter the House of Dance
Ever wanted to learn to dance for someone special?
In Beth Kephart’s new book House of Dance, Rosie Keith has had a tough past few years. Her dad mysteriously left her mom and her behind, and now her mother’s playing her own disappearing act with her boss, Mr. Paul.
When Rosie learns that her grandfather is dying, she begins to visit him and help clean out his very messy house, which is on the other side of town. While taking the long walk every day, Rosie starts to become friendly with the many shops and owners she comes across in her regular path. But there is one that is particularly special to her: the House of Dance.
Rosie learns that her grandfather loves music and dance, and from that, she gets the idea to dance for him. But as she starts to take lessons from the House of Dance, she soon learns that dancing is a lot more difficult than she had thought.
Can Rosie learn to dance well enough to perform before her grandfather gets too sick? Will her mother ever come back to her and leave Mr. Paul? And what about Nick, her neighbor whom she’s got a slight crush on? Read House of Dance (in stores now) to find out!
This book is great for girls who dance, for those who love music and for those who just love to read! It’s got a great message about learning to love life and help others who love you, too.
Do you think Rosie will learn to dance and not give up? What would you do for a sick grandparent? Blog about it, cuties!
