Critics pick: Top 9 songs of '09
Hurry! There are only a few hours left of the decade.
Through breakups and makeups, parties and driving around, there are a few familiar tunes that were blowing up our iPods this year and, face it, the last 12 months wouldn’t have been the same without them.
Through breakups and makeups, parties and driving around, there are a few familiar tunes that were blowing up our iPods this year and, face it, the last 12 months wouldn’t have been the same without them.
We took a look at our playlist and are sharing our most-played tunes of the year. Download and play ’em one final time before that ball drops and we bid 2009 adieu.
1 “You Belong With Me” – Taylor Swift is a total hit! Not only is this song a success, but her entire album has taken the whole world by storm.
2 “Fireflies” – Owl City brought the heat with this song and made it a slam-dunk. They’ve officially lit up the music scene and this jam is for sure one of its best.
3 “Party in the USA” – Miley Cyrus works it out in this now classic pump-up single. An awesome song, it’s the perfect one to dance around your room to.
4 “Tik Tok” – KE$HA is the recent sensation this year and her newest hot single is a totally divine tune. We can’t wait for more!
5 “Boom Boom Pow” – The Black-Eyed Peas created a dance mix that’ll be played for years to come! Gotta get that, gotta get that track before the year ends.
6 “One Time” – Justin Bieber is not only totally ah-dorable, but he has an AH-MAZING voice! His first released song was a home run and he’s not stopping there. With a whole album, including another hit single “One Less Lonely Girl,” we expect even bigger things from this teen. Love it!
7 “Circus” – Britney Spears’ most recent album lists this jam that never gets old. We totally heart Britney and her comeback. Afterall, she is a classic from the good ol’ nineties and we’ll always be a fan!
8 “Hot N Cold” – Katy Perry’s tune is so much fun to sing along with. And Katy’s style and fun attitude is our speed for sure!
9 “Catch Me” – Demi Lovato not only hit the Disney screen in her show Sonny With A Chance, but she also graced the charts with this jam. We heart Demi and can’t wait to see her in the upcoming movie Camp Rock 2 out this summer. Sizzle!
