To celebrate the release of her single, "The Deep End" (stream it here!), we sat down with Evie to get the full scoop on her sound. Ready to meet your new ballad-singing BFF? We thought so. 

1. She's a journal girlie.

When asked about her songwriting process, Evie wasn't shy about drawing inspiration from—you guessed it—her diary. "I normally pull things from my journal, stuff from my everyday life. It can even be things that my friends are going through." And when she has a stellar song lyric that just can't wait? "I pull voice memos up and hit record. If I don't, I'll totally forget." 

2. Her music taste is totally on point.

Wondering what artists Evie has on repeat? Think: country queens like Kasey and (early) Tay. "When I first heard Kasey Musgraves, I was like, oh my gosh, this is eye-opening. Her voice is smooth like butter. Growing up, I always had country music on the TV—and my parents love it too, so I listened to a lot of Garth Brooks and Willie Nelson. But the artists that really helped me figure out what direction I wanted to go in were Kasey Musgraves and Taylor Swift." Same, girl. Same.

3. Evie *loves* connecting with fans on TikTok...

If you recognize Evie from your FYP, it's because this sweet singer-songwriter has a serious passion for social media. "It's been a learning curve, honestly. You have to really learn your audience and understand what they want to listen to. Having fun with it is really important to me."

4. ...and via text.

If you're looking for a country ballad to blast with the windows down, Evie's latest track is a must-listen. "I feel like a bunch of people go through relationships where they're falling before the guy does, and it's like, they're falling and have no idea how the other person is feeling. It was fun to express those complicated emotions." Adding to our late-night drive playlist, ASAP.
