Ever catch yourself smiling back at a stranger or laughing even before your BFF gets to the catch of a joke? Yep, we’ve def caught ourselves doing that! Well, we all know that colds are contagious but who thought happiness could be contagious?!
 
According to an article in The Washington Post, studies have found that one person’s happiness can spread to those around them. Happiness spreads through people. Sometimes, you may not even have to know the person but just be around them or see them for you to catch a laugh or feel happier.
 
Researchers followed 4,700 participants of a study for two decades and discovered that the people who were happy were able to make those around them happier. Although research has also shown that unhappiness can spread as well, it is not nearly as contagious as happiness.
