Portion Control

Ever go to a restaurant and feel overwhelmed by the mile-high pile of food on your plate, but finish it anyway? Girl, we feel you. It’s sooo tempting to finish everything because we don’t want to waste food! But portions at restaurants are ridiculously large and the number of cals on those plates are def outrageous. Plus, eating when you’re full is never a good idea.
 
According to an article from The Washington Post, we can battle obesity by controlling the portion sizes we eat. A study found that those who eat properly portioned meals lost more weight than those who set their own portions. But it can be hard to know how big a serving of, say, pasta should be.

Here’s our guide to the perfect portion!

If you’re consistently a member of the clean plate club, pros suggest using smaller salad plates instead of dinner plates for meals. You get the satisfaction of polishing off your plate, but you’ll eat a normal size dinner.
