Watch this basketball player with special needs slay in her team's rivalry game
Despite the fact that we'll all be huddled around our TVs watching Super Bowl LI later, this inspiring basketball moment out of Oklahoma *needs* to be on your radar.
According to SB Nation, Lainey Fredrickson, a Norman High School senior with special-needs and a member of the girls basketball team, was welcomed into the game to make the final shot in their rivalry game against Norman North High School on Friday night.
The crowd was ecstatic for Lainey, and from the looks of it in the vid below, they didn't stop cheering the entire time she was on the court. Check out Lainey's teammates Bethany Franks and Darieana Hunter talking about working with her in the lead up to the big game, and then watch Lainey make her epic shot:
From the looks of it, not even the opposing team could help but be happy for her! This moment is a great reminder that inclusivity really does matter.
