Celebs react to surprising election results
After months of campaigning, the results are finally in. At around 2:30 a.m. this morning, Donald Trump was officially announced the next president-elect of the United States. Accepting the outcome of such a major election can be emotional, especially if your candidate of choice lost. But regardless of who you were rooting for or which side you were on, it's time to move forward as a country and turn our focus onto how we can come together to, as Mr. Trump would say, make America great again.
In his speech last night, our future president said, "To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people. It’s time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans." And we agree.
Some of our fave celebs have taken to Twitter to lift everyone's spirits this morning as we process the results of last night. While their words may be different, the message is the same: White or black, Republican or Democrat, male or female...we are all Americans at heart and this is our country to love and fight for. We have to stand together in order to change the culture and society we live in. Check out some of the inspiring tweets below:
The positive element from all this is that we can no longer pretend that we are free of racism & sexism. The question is, what do we do now?
