Feel Good Friday: What police officers did for this homeless teen is amazing

With all of the confusing world events happening lately, you've probably noticed that news outlets are reporting one tragic story after another. It's times like these when it's important to pay attention to the positive. This uplifting story about a random act of kindness is *exactly* what you need to hear.

Fred Barley, a 19-year-old homeless teen from Georgia, was so determined to be a Gordon State College student that last weekend he biked six hours to the school just to register for classes, according to The Source.

The same day Fred arrived on campus to register, local police officers received a call about a trespasser setting up a tent on campus. When they arrived at the tent, they found Fred. Fred explained to the officers his living situation and how long he had to travel just to get there. When they heard his story, the officers decided that instead of giving him a ticket, they would help him out by paying for Fred to stay a few nights in a motel.

But the kindness didn't stop there: the motel owner covered the cost for an extended stay and the college then allowed Fred to move in early. The motel owner also started a GoFundMe account that has raised $184,000 (so far) which will help pay for Fred's college and medical school tuitions.

Fred is nearly speechless with gratitude in this video response he made to share his thanks. In the video, he also promised to keep all those who donated updated on his grades and hard work.
