Donald Trump is the likely Republican presidential nominee

After Donald Trump's victory in the Indiana primary this week, republican candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich have dropped out of the running, leaving Trump to be the likely presidential nominee acccoring to Bloomberg Politics.

Although a Republican presidential candidate needs 1,237 secured delegates to actually win the nomination—which Trump is not expected to have until at least June—there are no more serious competitors in his way.

“It’s a beautiful thing to watch, and a beautiful thing to behold," Trump said during a victory speech. "We are going to make America great again."

"We left it all on the field in Indiana. We gave it everything we've got but the voters chose another path," Cruz said when he decided to suspend his campaign. "So with a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign."

Working to being the republican party together, Trump called Cruz "one tough competitor. He is a smart, tough guy."

There is still plenty of time between now and November's election, so it’s hard to predict exactly what will happen; but as of now, it seems this is where the election is headed.
