This 7-year-old boy learned all about the power of helping others

7-year-old Jack Swanson from Plfugerville, Texas has shown everyone that a little good deed can go a long way. As a young kid whose only money comes from what he earns doing chores, it took Jack a while to save up the $20 in pennies he had in his piggy bank, but when he heard about other people who needed the money, he was quick to give it up.

After The Islamic Center of Pflugerville, a local mosque, was the victim of a hate crime when it was vandalized and had its Quran (the sacred book of Islam) ripped to pieces, Jack decided to donate his hard-earned money to help pay for repairs, even though he'd been hoping to save up enough cash to buy an iPad. And though those $20 will only cover a portion of the clean-up costs, the spirits that they've lifted are worth a hundred times their monetary value.

"Jack's $20 are worth $20 million to us because it's the thought that counts," Faisal Naeem, one of the board members at the mosque told ABC News. "Jack is just a little older than my son, Ibrahim. If we have more kind-hearted kids like them in the world, I have hope for our future."

In fact, some members of Pflugerville's Muslim community were so moved that they decided to thank Jack for his help by making a very special gesture—buying him the iPad that he had been saving for. "Dear Jack," started a message shared on Facebook by Arsalan Iftikhar, a Muslim human rights lawyer and editor of The Islamic Monthly Magazine, "You had saved $20 in your piggybank for an Apple iPad...But then a local Islamic mosque was vandalized...So you donated your $20 to this local Texas mosque instead...Because of your amazing generosity & kind heart...Please enjoy this Apple iPad with our sincere thanks...Love...The American Muslim Community."

We think it's awesome that this young boy decided to help others in need, and that, even though he didn't expect anything in return, the community he helped didn't let his good dead go unrewarded.

How do you give back to your community?
