Yep, it's true...Gilmore Girls is coming back!
According to TV Line, Rory, Lorelai and the rest of the gang are heading back to Netflix for a special four episode installment. Each 90-minute episode will be written by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the original writer for the show, and produced by Daniel Palladino, the original producer. Although nothing is set in stone, rumor has it that the show will have a time jump, so we will be picking up with Lorelai and Rory in present day, about eight years after the show ended.
Sherman-Palladino, who didn’t write the last season of Gilmore Girls, spoke out to ease fears of a lack of great new material. “The beauty of Gilmore, and the beauty of family-relationship shows, is you never really run out of story,” she said. “You’re going to battle your family until you’re all in the ground. Those things never resolve, doesn’t matter how much therapy you get. Ten years later, there’s still going to be [material] there to mine and to delve into.”
Are Lorelai and Luke still together? Does Rory have a new boyfriend? We can’t wait to find out.
