These selfie snapping sorority sisters are our heroes
Last week, during a game between the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks, a group of sorority girls caught everyone's attention. They were taking some cute selfies, when the announcers started noticing them. The guys started making digs at the girls, saying things like, "they're all just completely transfixed by the technology" and asking "do you have to make faces when you take selfies?"
According to the Huffington Post, after the game ended, Fox sports and the Diamondbacks reached out to the women offering them tickets to the game. But instead of taking the tickets, the women used their newfound fame on the web for something *awesome*. They wrote in a Facebook post, "We appreciate their generous offer of tickets to tonight’s game. However, instead of chapter members attending the game, we have asked the Diamondbacks and Fox Sports to provide tickets to a future game for families at A New Leaf, a local non-profit that helps support victims of domestic violence."
What a great way to turn negative attention into something so positive...way to go, ladies!
