The coolest pics of last week's supermoon

Last Sunday night, everyone was buzzing about a super rare space event: the combination of a supermoon and a lunar eclipse.
What's a supermoon? It's a full moon that appears 14% larger and 30% brigher than the regular moon.
A lunar eclipse is when the sun, Earth and moon are in perfect alignment.

So what happens when a supermoon and a lunar eclipse are combined? An awesome event that we haven't seen since 1982. When the moon rose in the sky, not only did it appear even bigger than normal, it also took on a spooky red, brown hue just in time ofr the start of October (and official Halloween seaosn). It can often take on a reddish or brown appearance (just in time for the start of October—spooky) and can be called a blood moon.

Check out these cool pics now, because we won't see another one of these super-blood-moon eclipse until 2033. And, who knows? Maybe by then we'll be living on the moon.

Did you stay up to check out the eclipse last weekend? Let us know!
