The first change updates the way you view a snap or a story. Instead of holding down on your screen, all you’ll have to do is tap once on the screen and watch away. You’ll still be able to tap again to move from one snap to the next, but to stop watching you’ll now have to swipe, much like you would if you were closing an app.

The second and most exciting change is a function called "Add Nearby". If you’re hanging out in a group, all you’ll have to do is tap this button to add all of the people immediately around you to your Snapchat friends. Gone are the days of awkwardly scanning peoples’ phones or searching for usernames. You’re now basically guaranteed to remember to get the Snapchat info of every new friend you meet this summer. Let the creative captions and filters begin.
