Do you run #LikeAGirl?
Last night during the Super Bowl, feminine hygiene brand, Always ran a super inspiring ad encouraging girls to reclaim the prase "like a girl". In it, men and women were asked to demonstrate how they would do certain sports-related activities (like running and throwing) "like a girl". The results? Not very nice. Participants flounced around, flipped their hair and dropped balls dramatically.
But ya know who didn't act out the stereotype when asked to run like a girl? Real girls, just like you. When asked to run like a girl, they ran, and they ran as hard they could--and it was totally inspiring.
According to the Always website, "Using #LikeAGirl as an insult is a hard knock against any adolescent girl. And since the rest of puberty’s really no picnic either, it’s easy to see what a huge impact it can have on a girl’s self-confidence."
That's why they've decided to kick off an "epic battle" to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond by making a stand and showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.
So go on, show 'em what a strong and entirely capable girl can really do. To join in on this ultra-cool movement, tell @Always on Twitter what you do #LikeAGirl and how absolutely awesome you are.
Check out the awesome ad in the vid above, and then tell us in the comments how you plan to reclaim #LikeAGirl.
