Malala Yousafzai has just become the youngest person to ever win a Nobel Peace Prize and she is only 17 years old! Talk about a huge accomplishment for a teen who has spent the last few years fighting for girls' education in Pakistan.
Malala's activism includes traveling the world speaking about the lack of education for girls in Pakistan (something that the Taliban doesn't approve of which ultimately got her into a dangerous sitch).
She was shot in the head during her campaign for girls' education on her school bus. Luckily, she recovered soon after and has since published her autobiography called, "I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban".
Even after almost losing her life, this brave girl has not stopped fighting back.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan has even come forward calling Malala the "pride" of Pakistan. And to really put things into perspective, this fearless teen has become the 16th woman to ever win the Nobel Peace Prize (Aka: a 113-year-old prize), you go girl.
Malala is not only a hero but also a huge inspiration for all young girls who want to change the world. She is a great example of girl power and could not be more proud. Congrats on winning a Nobel Prize, Malala! You are so inspiring, keep up the good work.
Don't forget that tomorrow is the International Day of the Girl. This day was marked as the Day of the Girl just two years ago by the UN in efforts to raise awareness about gender inequality around the world. Get involved with this movement and learn more about you can raise awareness for girls around the world.
