There’s a double standard in society. When boys take the lead, they’re applauded. But when girls do it—and do it well—they’re called bossy. Or a worse B-word we won’t say here. Some of our favorite celebs are trying to do away with the double standard all together, though, darlins, and we are applauding their efforts.

Beyonce, Jennifer Garner and Jane Lynch are working with “lean in” lady Sheryl Sandberg, designer Diane von Furstenberg, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and others for the Ban Bossy campaign. The goal: To empower girls and put a positive spin on leadership, per The Gloss.
