If you’ve watched a clip of FOX’s hit show MasterChef Junior, you know that all the kids who made the cut are killer in the kitchen. We’ve been following the chefs all season long, and we are incredibly impressed by every single dish they’ve whipped up. While any of them could have made the finals, in our very humble opinion, the top two—13-year-old Alexander and 12-year-old Dara—are definitely the cream of the crop.

Sorry, Alexander, but we’ve gotta root for Dara on this one! The culinary arts is historically a male-dominated industry, so any accolade a chica can snag, especially this first-ever junior title, is huge for every girl hoping to get her foot in the door. And it’s not just about breaking a glass ceiling—have you seen the stuff this chef makes? Perfect layer cakes. Soy and ginger wings. Bleu cheese soufflé. What the what?!

And the Hello Kitty bow she sports for luck just makes us smile.
