Is texting dangerous?

Claims are being made that texting may not be as wonderful as we might think. According to the Associated Press, studies are now showing that there’s a correlation between how many texts you send out and whether or not you engage in sexual activities and/or alcohol and drugs. The article argues that if you’re sending over 120 messages a day, you’re more inclined to participate in this kind of behavior.

The study was done in the Cleveland area and surveyed about 4,200 students who provided these stats. Some teens will obviously feel this study is bogus because, of course, there are the people for instance, who only text their girlfriends. If you’re having a good convo via text, the number can skyrocket and it doesn’t reflect your behavior!

How do you guys feel about this survey? Do you think it is at all accurate?

Now, that is not the only texting issue we are seeing in the news lately. But the other issue only applies to Androids, for now. There is a service that can be downloaded to your phone (behind your back) that screens EVERY single text message you send. Whoever secretly downloads this service to your phone has all of your text messages forwarded to their own phone.

Sounds like someone is getting a little sneaky and obsessive, huh? This is all done so that the owner of the phone doesn’t even notice! Is texting getting out of hand?

Do we need to payer closer attention to the number of texts we send and where we leave our phone? Let us know what you think, girls!
