The fact that Emma Shannon stars in Disney Channel's Pretty Freekin' Scary  is honestly not even one of the top three most interesting things about her (which is mind-boggling since, let's be real, that's preety freekin' awesome). When she's not attending supernatural sleepovers or working at The Underworld Escape Room as goth tween Nyx onscreen, she's got plenty of cool stuff on her plate.

We sat down with Emma to learn about the girl behind the epic multicolored hair and all-black outfits. Turns out when she's not playing undead, she's living life to the fullest.

1. She's a nature girlie. 

Between her on-the-rise acting career, school and, ya know, being a teenager, it's kind of a miracle that Emma has time for anything else. But to her, taking care of her mind and bod will always come first (and being able to do both, at the same time, in the great outdoors? Her dream!) 

"I love going on walks with my mom and talking about everything," she says. "Plus, I really enjoy going to the gym every day." Consider us inspired to hit the trails ourselves. 

2. She's a budding chef.

Emma's also currently in her home-cooking era, with a focus on getting outside her culinary comfort zone and eating healthy: "I'm really into cooking and baking! I’m always trying out new recipes, and it’s a lot of fun!" Brb, following her Insta ASAP so that we'll be the first to know when she kickstarts her #FoodTok arc. 

3. She's at the beach rn (at least mentally). 

Okay, we know Emma loves taking in the fresh air, but if we're being super specific, she's *really* at home in the salt air. The beach is her go-to happy place, and let's just say she's already got plans to hit the sand soon: "I can’t wait to go to the beach every other day in the summer!" she gushes. Us too, Emma, us too. 

4. She's a total bookworm.

On her off days, you can find Emma with her nose buried in a book—and she's setting some pretty impressive records when it comes to her 2024 TBR. "I read a lot of books in my free time. I’ve read 246 books and i’m trying to get to 500," she shares. "It seems kind of crazy, but I’m determined!" 

Not only is Emma an avid reader, but she's also always thought about penning her own poetry book. "I have a deep connection to poetry, and I relate to expressing my emotions in an artistic way," she says. 

5. She's marking her cal for a very special event...

Yup, Emma's senior prom is right around the corner—and she's already counting down the minutes until she can hit the dancefloor. We just *had* to get the deets on her dress (you're welcome!), and Emma was thrilled to spill on what she'll be wearing: "My dress is white, very simple and elegant. I absolutely fell in love with the dress the minute I saw it!" 

6. She'd make an awesome bestie IRL. 

Nothing (not baking nor reading nor prom night) is closer to Emma's heart than her true blue BFFs "Hanging out with my friends and making core memories is one of the best feelings ever!" she says. "I cherish all my friendships deeply." A certified girls' girl—we love to see it.
