One of our fave parts of K.C Undercover is the friendship between K.C (Zendaya) and her BFF, Marisa (Veronica Dunne). When we heard that the season three premiere was a special one-hour episode where the girls (and the entire Cooper fam!) are on the run from archenemy Zane, we got *so* excited—and it's not just because we get to watch the BFFs take on Rio de Janeiro and enemy agent Sheena (guest star China Anne McClain). Check out this hilar sneak peek from the ep!

So funny right? Before the premiere tonight at 8 p.m. EST, we chatted with Veronica, who told us about her musical past and what’s next for Marisa!

On performing on stage
"I grew up doing theater and performing on stage so I had had a huge background doing that, but I don't think anything could prepare you for starring on Broadway, like I did in Chicago earlier this year. It definitely challenged me in new ways.”

On whether she prefers musicals or TV
"I can't choose! I love both for different reasons. I really enjoy the filming process of TV, but there truly is nothing like performing live.”

On what’s next for Marisa in season three of K.C. Undercover
"Well now that the Cooper family knows Marisa is aware of the fact that they are spies, she will be able to be involved on more missions. That will definitely be challenging, since Marisa isn't a trained spy, but it will be hilariously funny to see how she handles the pressure."

On the future of K.C. and Marisa
"Since it's K.C. and Marisa's senior year, they face the challenge of not knowing what will happen after they graduate, and trying to cherish the time they have together. Also, because Marisa is a little bit more involved in K.C.'s spy life, that poses some new obstacles for their friendship."

On her IRL friendship with Zendaya
"I think we've gotten close because of all the time we spent with each other. When you're playing best friends you are always spending quality time together so that's given me an opportunity to get to know Zendaya and vice versa. We have really grown strong throughout the years of filming the show as friends, on and off screen.

On K.C. Undercover as a musical
"I think it would be hilarious and probably amazing because so many people on our show can sing and dance!
