Aside from actually watching the games on TV this month, social media is a great way to keep up with your favorite athletes from #TeamUSA. Maybe you can’t go to Rio yourself, but you can compete in Brazil vicariously by following these ten totally talented Olympians on Instagram.

At only 21 years old, champion swimmer Missy Franklin is already a five-time gold medalist. Her Insta features many swim team pics, but also normal things like cute cats and patriotic manicures.

Ibtihaj Muhammad, @ibtihajmuhammad

Ibtihaj is the country's number 2 ranked fencer, and the first muslim woman to represent the U.S. at the Games. She’s a total inspiration—not only does her Instagram include pics with celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, but she also posts about her faith, unity, inclusiveness and her modest-wear clothing line, Louella.

Jordan Burroughs, @alliseeisgold

Jordan is a 2012 wrestling gold medalist, a three-time world champion and a father to a very cute pair of twins. If you don’t follow him for the wrestling promos, do it for the adorable baby pics!

Margaux Isaksen, @margauxisaksen

In the upcoming games, Margaux will compete in the modern pentathlon—that’s a combination of fencing, swimming, show jumping, pistol shooting and a cross country run. With determination and lots of stamina, we think Margaux will be able to win it!

Simone Biles, @simonebiles

19-year-old gymnast Simone Biles is the first African American to be world champion *and* the first woman to win three consecutive world titles. Her Instagram shows off her insane flexibility and her hangs with other Olympic gymnasts (like Aly Raisman)!

After tearing ligaments in her leg in April and being unable to qualify for one of her races, track-and-field star Allyson still doesn’t give up. Her Instagram is full of inspirational pictures and captions about overcoming adversity and the power of hard work.

Mackenzie Brown, @mackbrown14

This will be 21-year-old Mackenzie’s first Olympic games, and with archery skills that put Katniss Everdeen to shame we have a feeling Mack will bring home the gold.

Rugby player Carlin Isles has often been referred to as "the fastest rugby player in the world." But his Instagram is so #relatable: it includes lots of selfies, pictures with friends and an adorbs puppy—what more could you ask for?!

Polish-born fencer Dagmara is definitely our favorite purple-haired Olympian. When she was just 1 year old, she immigrated with her parents to the U.S. and in 2012 she competed in her first Olympic games.

Michael is no stranger to the Games, so it's likely you seen his face before (and his bod—wow!). You probably even saw the swimmer carrying the American flag at the Opening Ceremony last night, but nothing gets more exclusive than the pic he recently posted with teammate Ryan Lochte.
