The odds mostly certainly *are* in our favor, because Suzanne Collins just announced not only a brand new Hunger Games book, releasing next year, but ALSO a movie version, coming out in 2026!

Sunrise on the Reaping is the fifth book in the Hunger Games series: "The Second Quarter Quell is here. The Fiftieth Annual Hunger Games are about to begin. Who will live and who will die?" (In case you forgot, the second Quarter Quell was when Haymitch won the Games!)

The new book (coming out on March 18, 2025), will take place 40 years after The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes—making it another prequel to the original trilogy.

Just a few hours later came the announcement that the big-screen adaptation will be coming out the year after the book, in theaters on November 20, 2026!
