The ultimate guide to creating a spring capsule wardrobe
Spring cleaning szn has arrived, which means it's the perfect time to update your wardrobe. Let's be real: We've all looked in our closets and thought, I've got nothing to wear! (Even though it's filled with clothes you probably haven't even worn yet.) That's where a capsule wardrobe comes in.
A capsule wardrobe is a small collection of clothes that you can mix and match to create endless outfit combos. You've got your tops, bottoms, jackets, and accessories, and they all match because they share similar styles and colors.
When you have a capsule wardrobe, you're not constantly ordering new trendy tops from Shein that, tbh, you'll never wear again after this season. Instead, you're picking pieces you're obsessed with and wearing them again and again.
Long white skirt
Remember the long white skirts that had everyone in a chokehold last summer? Well, guess what? It's time to bring them back into your wardrobe rotation! A long white flowy skirt is *so* Mamma Mia.
Style it with a floral tank and mini baguette bag for a more minimalistic beachy aesthetic. Wear it to the beach, a picnic with your bsfs or to a coffee study date. Bonus if you add bows to hair for that coquette aesthetic.
Leather Jackets
If you haven't yet found your fave leather jacket, now's the perfect moment to bring it back into rotation. '90s fashion is making a major comeback, and leather jackets are the ultimate staple from that era. You can pair it with chunky sneakers or boots like Doc Martens. To jazz it up, pair it with a sundress. (Psst: Hailey Bieber loves to pair her leather jackets with jeans and sneaks.)
Baby Tees
When it comes to building a spring capsule wardrobe, baby tees are a must-have. Throw on a pair of high-waisted jeans and and your everyday sneakers, and you're ready to go! You can also layer it with a lightweight cardigan for those chilly mornings.
Button-Up Tops
Whether you're headed to a picnic in the park with your bsfs or lounging at home, a classic white button-up makes the perfect layering base. Wear it loose and casual for those lazy days when comfort is key, or button it up and add a cute necklace for an elevated vibe. Plus, with its timeless design, you can mix and match it with anything from linen pants to a long maxi skirt.
Knit Sweaters
Sweaters are perfect for keeping you cozy when it's chilly outside but not cold enough to break out the puffer jackets. You can layer them over a shirt for added warmth or wear them on their own. If it gets warm, you can easily drape your sweater over your shoulders and tie it around your neck, turning it into a stylish accessory. You can add a pop of color and make it vibrant or keep it neutral for a more simple outfit. It's totally giving city girl aesthetic.
