Must-have makeup brushes for your beauty bag

Did you know that the application of your makeup is *just* as important as the products you use? Your brushes make a difference in how your makeup looks and wears. But, it can be overwhelming with all the options at your fave beauty stores. Here are the six essential (and budget friendly) tools you need in your makeup bag!

Beauty sponge

Ulta, $7

A blending sponge is a *must* for all cream products (Think: foundation, BB cream, concealer, blush, bronzer or highlighter). We love this Real Techniques one because it features a flat edge, round sides and a precision tip—allowing you to reach all areas of your face. A beauty sponge creates an airbrushed finish for your base. Remember to dampen before using!

Powder

Ulta, $5

It's super important to set all of your cream products with a powder. You want a brush to create a fine and even layer of powder for a flawless base. This inexpensive Wet n Wild brush is soft and perfectly distributes loose or packed powders. To use, lightly pat across your entire face (and neck)!

Bronzer

Ulta, $6

When applying bronzer, you need a loose and fluffy brush. Gently sweep your fave bronzer across your cheekbones, forehead and jawline for a sunkissed glow. Bonus: E.l.f. brushes are all vegan and cruelty-free!

Blush

Ulta, $8

Wanting to add a pop of color to your look? This rounded shape works to target the apples of your cheeks (perfect for blush). You can easily build the coverage of your rosy shine by softly tapping the brush. It's time to enter your rosy era...

Highlighter

Ulta, $8

A tapered highlighting brush allows you to specifically focus on certain areas for your glow. Plus: this brush is extra soft which creates an ultra-smooth radiance. When applying, dust your shimmer on the tops of your cheekbones, browbones and bridge of your nose.

Eyeshadow

Ulta, $7

Four brushes for the price of one? Say less! These two duo-ended eyeshadow brushes are the only tools you need for *all* of your eye looks. It includes a Shade & Define brush and a Blend & Smudge brush. They're also made from recycled materials. What more could you want?
