Prep your skin for winter with these 5 easy tips
While we know (and love) the winter months for its cozy sweaters, holidays and hot cocoa, colder weather is also known for bringing along some not-so-fab repercussions—like dry skin and chapped lips. If you're anything like us, you've tried *hundreds* of products in search of the perfect remedy to these struggles. No need to stress, though, because we've created the *perfect* guide to keeping your skin healthy and glowing all winter long.
Step 1: Cleanse
The base of any good skincare routine is investing in a well-made cleanser. We recommend checking out this clarifying cleanser by Theraderm, a clinical skincare company. Because this "reversion" cleanser is oil-free, it is designed to help clean your skin without drying it out, which is especially helpful during the cold winter months.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Exfoliating is an easy way to help hydrating products absorb into your skin more easily. By removing dead skin cells, your face will feel fresh and smooth. Our personal fave product? This *amaze* exfoliating skin perfector by Glossier. Not only is this product great at its job, but it is also 100% vegan and cruelty-free (yay!).
Step 3: Repair
Place these Patchology eye gel patches under your eyes to help reverse skin damage and leave yourself feeling rejuvinated. Formulated with antioxidants resveratrol and hyaluronic acid, these patches provide a megadose of hydration, helping repair even the most wind-burned skin.
Step 4: Hydrate
Hydrating your skin is arguably the most important part of any good skincare routine. Because all skin types are different, we recommend checking out Curél, as they have hydrating lotions that work on *all* types of skin (yep, from the dryest to the oiliest!). Interested? If you have extremely dry skin...try the Ultra Healing Intensive Lotion, which is clinically proven to relieve extra-dry skin 2x better than the leading lotion.
If you’re eczema prone...try the Itch Defense Lotion, which helps control flare ups and restore the skin’s moisture barrier.
If you want a lighter feel...try the Daily Healing Original Lotion, which provides instant relief and protects the skin from dryness for over 24 hours.
Step 5: Maintain
Removing all of your makeup at the end of each day is an easy way to protect your glow all season long. We suggest using 1-2 pumps of this Bubble makeup remover to remove makeup from face and eyes. Rub the product in circles around your face and rinse until all makeup, dirt and sweat has been properly removed.
