Dance With Me
Shimmering dance floor,
In the pale soft light.
The hardwood echos,
Dance with me tonight.
My dress will swish and my hair will sway,
while I dance my all my troubles away.
You stand in the corner, looking on,
And I only wish they'd play the right song
Then you come and ask for my hand,
Cue the music, strike up the band.
It's my time, time for my dance,
Now here’s my chance.
But the song doesn't play,
And those dreams fade away.
This isn't a fairytale,
It’s just an ordinary day.
The hardwood echos,
Dance with me tonight.
My dress will swish and my hair will sway,
while I dance my all my troubles away.
You stand in the corner, looking on,
And I only wish they'd play the right song
Then you come and ask for my hand,
Cue the music, strike up the band.
It's my time, time for my dance,
Now here’s my chance.
But the song doesn't play,
And those dreams fade away.
This isn't a fairytale,
It’s just an ordinary day.
