I can’t help how I think, I can’t help how I feel,
But at least I know I can find the real deal.
I have a list, 1 to 8. But this is my list, 8 to 1,
It wasn’t like this when the whole list begun.
 
Him over there used to be number 8,
I’ve known him for years and he used to be great.
 
That one right there is number 7 right now,
I see him all the time but he’s still a jerk somehow.
 
See that guy there? Yeah he’s number 6,
I haven’t seen him forever so my feelings are mixed.
 
The cute one right there is number 5 in my heart,
He doesn’t know me right now but that’s easy to start.
 
Number 4 is right there, surrounded by girls,
I shouldn’t give him my time after he shattered my world.
 
And there’s number 3, not by my choice,
People matched me with him so I didn’t have a voice.
 
Look at my number 2, isn’t he cute?
He’s the class clown and a total hoot.
 
And there, of course, is number 1,
Things have been tricky ever since my feelings begun.
 
I can’t help how I think, I can’t help how I feel,
But at least I know I can find the real deal.
All eight have their problems and things that I love,
It wasn’t this hard when the whole list begun.
