“Remembering”
I remember the days I spent with you
Midnight snacks talking about nothing
About how we were crushed from our crushing
On boys we never even knew
Watching movies and rating them one to ten
and we might not have known right then,
but these were the memories we would remember
and we were oblivious that we were each an ember
in a fire of a friendship destined to crash and burn.
and how we would, in the future, yearn
for the days of laughter and freedom.
I miss you.
