Dear Li - A love letter
Yeah, I know I'm sad. A seventeen-year-old girl who has never been on a date or
has never had a boyfriend. But I know you don't care about that.
Because you told me that one day that you like my tomboy-look and think I'm
fashionable. That I'm 'cool' and 'attractive.' You lured me in with your words,
your look, your care, your smile, and oh man that laugh...
I love how that one day in Journalism, the only class we have together since
I'm a senior and you're a junior, we started calling ourselves the DREEM TEEM.
It's spelled wrong because you just couldn't seem to get your head together
that day when you wrote it down in my reporter’s notebook. I love working with
you on the Table of Contents—that's our page—and I love how when I'm down about
something, you immediately know.
And all you have to say is one sentence to get me smiling again. One sentence
and one hug.
Long story short. You're amazing. And you've lured me in--I'm hooked. I have
feelings for you, and it seems like you have some for me, too (I'm still
enjoying that Redskins hat you gave me as a Christmas present).
So I'll be waiting for you. The girl in the high tops, the Fat Albert
sweatshirt and cat hat who’s never been on a date—I'll be waiting.
I hope Valentines Day will be something special for me this year. And I hope
you're the one to make it so.
Love,
