Gotta survive summer school? Here's how!

I failed two classes and I have to go to summer school!  This is going to ruin my whole summer.  My mom said I have to stay with my aunt while the rest of my family goes on vacation.  I’m going to be stuck with the “bad” kids all summer and it’s going to be horrible.
Plus, I’m embarrassed to tell my friends that I failed classes because they are going to think I’m dumb.  How can I make sure this doesn’t ruin my whole summer?
Hey girl!  Sorry to hear you have to go to summer school.  I went to summer school once to get ahead in some classes, so I know it can put a bit of a damper on your supposed-to-be “time off.”  But honestly, it’s really not that bad and I’m sure it won’t ruin your entire summer.
Be a “glass half full” kinda gal
I know summer school’s a bit of a bummer.  But if you let it get you down, it will just be like a dark storm cloud that follows you around.  If you’re optimistic, things will certainly brighten up for ya.  My dad told me he failed a class in college, but when he retook it, he got an A!  People fail classes all the time.  But when you take it again, chances are things will click into place and go over a lot smoother.

Don’t judge a book by its cover
Summer school is always associated with the “bad” kids.  But think about it: you’re not a bad kid.  You just failed a class.  There are other “good” kids who failed classes too who are prob feelin’ the same way you are.  Just because someone has to go to summer school doesn’t mean they aren’t nice or a good person.  Give your summer schoolmates a chance.  Who knows, you may make some friends.
Chit Chat
When it comes to telling your buddies, if you don’t make a big deal out of it, they prob won’t either.  Let ‘em know it’s really no biggie ‘cause you’ll still have plenty of time to hang out with them.  If they do start judging you, maybe they’re not really your friends after all.  Just because you made a mistake doesn’t mean you’re dumb.  Your real friends respect you and your choices, and they already know you’re a smart gal.
