Olivia Rodrigo is making the world a better place (and how you can, too!)
Olivia just proved to all of us that she is decidedly more sweet than SOUR. During her recent concert in Manila, Olivia donated all her ticket sales to a charity that improves healthcare for women and girls, showing us how we can turn our passions into something bigger. Inspired? We’ve got five fun and easy ways you can make a difference, too—no stage required!
Olivia's biggest concert yet
On her GUTS World Tour, Olivia Rodrigo isn’t just selling out arenas—she’s making a major impact. Case in point: At her recent concert in Manila (her biggest yet, with 55,000 plus fans!), Olivia, who is half-Filipino, announced that ticket profits for that show would go to Jhpiego, a nonprofit focused on healthcare for women and girls in the Philippines.
And this isn’t a one-time thing, either—Olivia has been using her Fund 4 Good initiative to support causes close to her heart, like girls' education, reproductive rights and the prevention of gender-based violence—showing us all how to channel things we care about into positive change.
You might not be a global pop star (yet), but you *def* don’t need to be to make a positive impact. Here are five easy ways to give back—just like Olivia!
1. Host a mini-fundraiser
Whether it’s a bake sale or a garage sale, you can gather your friends and family to raise money for a cause you care about. Pick something that speaks to you—whether it’s animal shelters, environmental groups, or healthcare nonprofits—and start small. Every little bit helps!
2. Spread kindness online
Use your social media for good! You can find anything at your fingertips so share info about causes you care about, support friends' fundraisers, or start a positivity chain by leaving encouraging comments on others' posts.
3. Start a club at school
Create a group dedicated to social causes, like mental health awareness or women’s rights. Host discussions, organize events, and spread awareness at your school.
4. Donate your time and talents
If you’re good at something—whether it’s art, writing, tutoring, or coding (or even singing, Olivia-style)—use those skills to benefit others. Offer free tutoring sessions, create posters or content for local nonprofits, or help younger kids with their homework.
5. Support ethical and sustainable brands
Shop smart! Choose brands that are ethical, eco-friendly, and give back to the community. Organize a swap event or go thrifting with your friends to avoid fast fashion and help the environment. You can find some of our recs here or search up any brand’s sustainability rating on Good On You!
Olivia Rodrigo is proof that no matter your platform, you can use it to spark positive change. As long as you have the GUTS, you have the power to make a difference—one small step at a time. Let’s show everyone that girls can lead the way in making the world a better place!
