How to document your life if you're camera shy

Let's be real: Documenting your life on social media isn't for everyone. Tbh, the anxiety about plastering every moment all over the internet for strangers to see is *real*. Not to mention the hassle of having to constantly pull out your camera to snap aesthetic pics.

But there's definitely something special about looking back on old memories. Well, we're here to tell you that an IG profile isn't the only way to do that.

If you're not quite vibing with the social media scene rn or if the thought of random people checking out your page gives you heebie-jeebies, try these easy methods to capture your life—without even revealing your face. (Ofc, whether you prefer to keep your project private or show it to the world is entirely up to you!)

Scrapbooking

Channel your inner artist and get into the scrapbook game. It's like creating a visual diary filled with memories, minus the need to snap selfies. And scrapbooking doesn't have to be boring. Level up your project by embracing modern techniques! Dive into Canva or PicsArt to craft stylish online spreads that you can easily print off—or set as your lock screen.

Journaling

You've probably heard that journaling is therapeutic, and the rumors are true. Grab that pen and spill your thoughts and memories on paper (or a Google Doc if a digital diary is more your style). Try out different ways of expressing yourself by playing around with stickers, gel pens and prompts.

Not sure where to begin? Try these prompts to get your imagination flowing:

+ Write a letter to your future self, detailing where you hope to be in 5 years.
+ Describe a moment from your day that brought you joy.
+ Jot down your goals for the next month.
+ Reflect on a recent challenge or strange occurrence this week.
+ ...and check out more!

Memory Boxes

Time to craft your enchanted memory collection! Grab a cute box and fill it with all the stuff that brings you back to your fave moments, like movie tickets from a night out with friends, those secret handwritten poems dedicated to your crush (that you never sent, ofc) and even the cool stones you stumbled upon during a family hike. It's basically like making a treasure chest packed with your memories! Trust, there's nothing more nostalgic (and slightly embarrassing) than reminiscing on old trophies, birthday cards and all the fan merch 13-year-old you couldn't stop collecting.

Post Creatively

Flaunt your passions without revealing your face: This one's for all the girlies who still want to shine on social media but might be a bit camera-shy. Are you a singing sensation? Drop a voice note of that awesome cover you nailed. Obsessed with Percy Jackson? Share your favorite fan edits or spill your thoughts on the latest episode. And if fashion is your life, whip up some chic mood boards inspired by your fave trends.

Your story, your style

Remember to snap moments that scream Y-O-U. Whether it's a killer music recital or your go-to city hangout, capture what *you* find beautiful or important. Bc after all, that's what really matters!
