4 Hanukkah traditions to start with your friends and fam this year
Hanukkah calls for all the warm 'n' fuzzy feels you get from spending quality time with friends and fam!
And while there are loads of amaze traditions that you probably already partake in if you celebrate the Festival of Lights (warm latkes and doughnuts? Lighting the menorah? Giving presents? Yes, pls!), there's no such thing as too many holiday activities. This is your sign to amp up the szn with some *new* festive to-dos.
Decorate your home
There's nothing quite like getting into the holiday spirit through decorating! And who says your menorah has to be the only Hanukkah decor in your home? It's time to turn your living space into a cozy holiday oasis filled with all things bright and cheery (think: string lights, greenery, blue/silver/gold accents—and maybe even some extra candles, blankets and pillows).
Bake doughnuts
Doughnuts are one of the most delish festive treats. And baking them from scratch? Double the fun! Hit play on your fave Hanukkah playlist and enjoy making some yummy treats. Btw, we've got you covered with a recipe right here. And if baking isn't exactly your thing? No worries—you can always decorate some store-bought doughnuts with tons of fun frosting and sprinkles.
Do a Hanukkah gift exchange
We all know and love Secret Santa, but what about the Hanukkah version? Whether you choose to call it something silly like Hanukkah Harry or keep it simple with Secret Snowflake, it'll be super fun!
Once you gather up some gals, have everyone write their name on a piece of paper and put it into a hat. Have everyone draw the name of the person they'll get a present for. There's no doubt that the secrecy of who will get gifts for who will spice things up and add plenty of excitement to your holiday this year!
Have an ugly Hanukkah sweater contest
Who said ugly Christmas sweaters are the only options? Ugly Hanukkah sweaters are *so* a thing. Invite your squad over and tell them to all show up in their ugliest Hanukkah sweaters, and have everyone vote on the ugliest or silliest one. And if you don't already have one, don't fret—it just might be time for some much-needed online shopping!
