5 ways to celebrate Valentine's Day even if you aren't in a relationship

Don't be fooled by the lovey-dovey merch in the grocery stores and all the couple pics on Insta. Valentine's Day isn't just a holiday for people in relationships. Yep, even if you don't have an S.O. this Feb. 14, you can still spread the love. So break out those candy hearts babe, because this year, you can celebrate V-Day with *anyone* special in your life.

Galentine's Day, anyone? Grab a mini heart-shaped waffle iron and cook up a pretty spread of breakfast-for-dinner goodies—or any pink foods, for that matter. We're kind of obsessed with these Shirley Temple floats. Chocolate covered strawberries or Valentine cupcakes are sure to be a hit, too. Is there any better way to bond with your besties than over sugary snacks?

With your sis

You don't need a date night to have an excuse to dress up. Get all dolled up with your sis, even if you're just hanging at home. You can do each other's makeup, pick out cute outfits and dance around to a rockin' playlist. (psst...check out these dance-worthy tunes on our Spotify) If you're feelin' cozy instead, throw on some PJs and settle in for a rom-com movie night.

With your mom

Host a fancy Valentine's Day tea party for just you and your mom. Break out the Bridgerton playlist and brew a steaming pot of herbal tea. Add a plate of homemade strawberry scones, and you'll have a festive spread fit for a queen. If you need a tea set, the thrift shop usually has some adorable vintage finds.

With your grandparents

Grandparents need to feel the love on Valentine's Day, too, so don't forget about them. If they live close by, whip up a batch of heart-shaped cookies (decorated with pink frosting, obvi) and deliver them in a cute DIY box. If Grandma and Grandpa live further away, call them up on FaceTime or send them a meaningful card in the mail.

With your pup

Take a Valentine-inspired pic with your furry friend. Even better if you have matching pink sweaters or bowties! Show your pup a little extra love this Valentine's Day with a long walk around the neighborhood or some homemade dog treats.
