5 ways to make a difference in your community

Ever wonder what you can do to make your mark in the world? Start small with helping out your community. The tiniest things can make the biggest change, and everyone will reap the benefits. You have the power to make a difference, now get going!

1. Inspire others
Next time you’re bored at home wondering what to do, consider writing encouraging notes on a few sticky notes and spreading them around your neighborhood. Everybody loves seeing a word of encouragement from a stranger, and you never know the impact it might have on someone's day!

2. Donate cat or dog food to your local shelter
Our pets are just as much a part of our community as the people are. Take a moment to drop off some cat or dog food at your local shelter. The pups thank you!

3. Mentor someone younger than you
Make a difference in someone’s life by spending time with a younger community member. It’s scary growing up, but it makes it so much better when there’s someone to show you the ropes.

4. Keep a few bags of food in the car
You never know when you are going to drive by someone in need. Pack a few bags of food and put them in the car so you can help out someone who needs it.

5. Organize a community event
There’s nothing better than getting everyone together for a BBQ, or even just a pickup game of soccer. Bringing people together makes everyone happier, and it serves as an amazing opportunity to get everyone to pitch in on making your community a better place!

How do you make a difference? Let us know in the comments!
