5 ways to stay close with your long-distance bestie this summer
Over the summer, keeping in touch with your friends can be hard. Sometimes one of you might be away at camp, on vacation, or just super busy. When you don't see each other at school everyday you might lose touch. That's why we came up with five super fun ways to make staying close easy!
1. Create a Spotify playlist together
Having a summer playlist is a *necessity*. On Spotify, you can make collaborative playlists that both you and your friends can add to. All you have to do after creating the playlist is choose "make collaborative" and then share the link with your besties! Now you can both jam out to each other's fave summer hits even if you're miles apart.
2. Have a Netflix movie night

Over quarantine, we all learned many new ways to stay close with friends and family even if we couldn't physically be together. One of the best life hacks we discovered was Netflix watch parties. Teleparty is a platform that allows you to stream shows and chat with your friends at the same time. You can now stream multiple different platforms including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and HBO. Plan a night when you and your bestie can pop some popcorn and chill out together—virtually!
3. Plan out a summer bucket list

Making a summer bucket list is always a *must*. Even if you and bestie can't physically do things with each other, you can still create your list together. Then each of you can try to complete everything on your bucket lists over the course of the summer! You could even make it a competition to see who can complete it first and take photo proof of each item you check off. It's fun to get poster board, markers and glitter (of course) to make your bucket lists over FaceTime.
4. Send each other a care package
If your BFF is away at camp, home, or the beach, collect a bunch of your favorite candies, photos, games and more to send to them! It will be like sharing a part of your summer life with them, and they can do the same for you. You can also include a letter updating them on everything you've been up to!
5. Read a book together
Whether you're at the beach or just outside in your yard, reading a book is always a great way to chill out. Choose a book for you and your friend to read at the same time. It's a great way to be doing something together, even if you're far apart. You and bestie can have FaceTime book club meetings to talk about your book. If reading is really not your vibe, you can always watch the same show as your BFF!
