Stay True to the New You!

Who doesn’t love a fresh start? It's waaay in to 2010...have you kept up with your New Year's resolutions?

Here's our easy tips for keeping up with all your fab to-dos.

Don't Go Overboard

If your resolution is to become a billionaire or marry Taylor Lautner by the end of this year, hold your horses, hon! It’s always great to stay positive and dream big, but with a one-year resolution, you wanna be realistic. In other words, make sure that you’re goal is something achievable within this year. Promised you'd run a 5K, star in the school play, get a the perf BF and get an after-school gig? That's great, but you might wanna stretch that out and give yourself a li'l  more leeway with your goals. Pick the ones that are most important, so that you can be the best you can be in those areas!

Let the World Know

OK, some resolutions may be a bit embarrassing (you have an Oreo obsessh and are looking to cut back...eek!), but if it’s something you really want to fulfill, let your friends or family know. Why? If you tell your chicas or the ’rents your resolution then they’ll remind you to stick with it. Let’s say you plan to jog at least 30 minutes everyday. If you start getting lazy, your bud can point that out for you. It’s like a human alarm system!

Keep It In Mind

So, let’s say your plan is to buy a new camera this is year with your own money. To stick with ut, put pictures of the camera you want of your wall… EVERYWHERE. Whether it’s your desk, locker, or cell phone background, leave yourself constant reminders. Motivation is the key to sticking with your plans.

Be Your Own Cheerleader

Don’t just dive in without looking back at how you’re doing. There’s a saying “learn from the past” and this applies to resolutions. Take a moment to look back on what you did to achieve your goal so far and how far you’ve come. And no matter where you are, stay positive and focus. Build yourself up!

Don't Beat Yourself Up

Sometimes it’s hard to stick completely with your resolution. You might find yourself hitting an obstacle or sidetracking a bit. But don’t sweat it and don't get frustrated! Everyone makes mistakes and you can always get back on track. If you fall, just get right back up—and learn from whatever mistakes you made.

Good luck!
