My hands get super pruney and painful when I swim. Help!
When I swim, my hands and feet get so wrinkled, they start to hurt. Is there any thing I can do to stop them from getting pruney—and painful?
When you swim, water from your hands and feet is drawn out of your skin, causing those prune-like wrinkles, and, sometimes, pain. How to prevent the pruning? One obvious is limiting your time in water. But if that doesn’t mesh with your summer plans, apply a barrier lotion, like Eucerin or Vaseline to stop the water from being absorbed into your skin. Other solutions include avoiding water with extreme temps (like steamy hot tubs or icy late night swims), drinking plenty of H20 and rehydrating your hands and feet with a thick, unscented moisturizer after you’re done going for a dip.
