Are nose piercings bad for your health?
Hey girl! Getting anything pierced on your body can cause health problems, so you need to take some precautions to avoid infection. You have a few years to think about why you want your nose pierced and perhaps to have a conversation with your parents about the piercing.
Consider this
Piercings done in the mouth and nose have a greater risk of infection because of all the bacteria that live in those parts of the body. If you’ve had problems with an ear piercing becoming infected easily, you might want to reconsider. You’ll also want to know if you’re allergic to any metals.
Getting it done
First, make a pros and cons list of why you would like your nose pierced. Then, ask where your friend’s older sibs have gotten piercings, and do some research online to find a reputable (sanitary) piercing place. Once you’re there, take a good look around: If anything looks dirty or the place freaks you out, you might wanna listen to your gut and postpone your piercing. Whoever is piercing your nose or any other body part should wash his or her hands, use new, sterilized needles and wears fresh disposable gloves.
