Finding the *perfect* gym outfit for the plus size girl

As a plus size girl myself, I feel extremely unmotivated when I don’t have on the right clothes for a good workout. Gone are the days of wearing a big old T-shirt and some sweatpants (although it’s ok if you still wear that, we can look cute in anything!). Sometimes we want to look like everyone else thoughcute top/sports bra, awesome designer/patterned leggings, you name it. Check out these stores to find that perfect gym outfit if you’re a curvy/plus size girl like me.

Marshalls
Before I started working out at my gym regularly, I stopped by Marshalls. They have sizes from XS-3X but as you know, sizes are rarely the same at stores. I normally fit in between a 2X-3X in my regular clothes depending on the store/designer. I didn’t have the time to try anything on, so when I decided to buy athletic leggings, I bought two pairs from different companies at a 3X. Luckily both of them fit and I was able to get a shirt and some ankle socks along with the leggings for under $55.

Lane Bryant
It's on the pricier side but if you’re willing to spend the extra money for really good quality, it's totally worth it. If there’s a sale, run to the closest store to stock up on cute shorts, tanks and leggings. Their athletic line pieces can be up to $60 and their sizes go from 14-28 (1X-3X/4X).

Forever 21
Every girl's favorite store just launched their active line for plus size girls within the last year or so. However, it may just be for more athleisure than working out. But that doesn’t mean you can't look cute while taking a nice walk. Their leggings are all below $25 and their sizes go up to 3X.

Old Navy
Everyone loves basics but with Old Navy, you can be fun and active with their bright patterns. They have awesome sports bras, leggings, tanks and shorts. They even have pullovers for when you leave the gym. Their athletic line pieces can be up to $40 and their sizes go from 1X-4X.

Nike
Congrats to Nike for extending sizes for their athletic wear not too long ago. Their sizes go from 1X-3X and their pieces are definitely not inexpensive. One piece from their line can cost up to $95 but their quality isn’t half bad either. You can always wait until they go on saleyour wallet and parents will thank you.

Are there any other stores that we forgot to mention? Leave them in the comments below!
