Go team! 4 lessons to learn from football
First down: Getting out on the field is half the battle
Imagine that you're the one who'll be facing down a 300-pound linebacker across the line of scrimmage. Pretty scary, right? Even though there's a huge chance they'll be tackled--and tackled hard--football players hit the field anyway and give it their all. We think that's pretty darn admirable.
Second down: There's always another path to take
Sometimes quarterbacks have to scramble when their original play doesn't exactly go as planned. From running for yardage themselves to passing to a different open receiver to throwing the ball away, there are always other options--plans B, C and D. Just 'cause the first choice didn't work out doesn't mean they're out of luck, and neither are you.
Third down: Having a support system is essential
If you've ever been in the stands during a football game, you know that when the third down comes up, it's time to get loud. Why? Because the noise can distract your team's opponent...and shows your guys that you're behind them 100 percent. Sometimes, crowd support can make all the difference, whether you're aiming for the Super Bowl or a small town championship win.
Fourth down: Sometimes risks pay off
Most of the time, when teams don't make a first down on the third attempt, they punt the ball. But other times--special, unique, exciting times--they go for it. And it's those moments that teach us to go for it, even when past experience tells us we might not make it. Because ya know what? Sometimes you do make it, and taking that risk makes the reward even sweeter.
Now tell us: What lessons have you learned from sports?
