Give the sun a spectacular send off with an end of summer soiree

You’ve been livin’ it up with your BFF's all summer long and it’s almost time to pick out that BTS outfit...but not before you celebrate with your chicas in the summer sun (one last time). So, what a better way to celebrate the end of summer and bring on the brand new school year than to throw a party? From perfecting your invites to baking some crowd pleasing goodies, here's some GL approved tips for throwing the perf end-of-the-summer bash!

Sweet send outs

Instead of an impersonal text or Facebook invite, print out an adorbs pic of you and your crew on matte cardstock (it'll give your invites that extra special feel). Try using Snapfish, Walgreens Photo or your local Staples. Then, write all the important party deets on the back so your guests know exactly what’s up. If you can, hand deliver the invites to your guests...that way they know just how important they are!

Musical moment

No pressure or anything, but the soundtrack you blast at your get together just might make (or break) your party. Keep it cool with the tracks you and your gang have been jamming out to all summer like “Problem” by Ariana Grande and “Am I Wrong” by Nico & Vinz. We’d totally recommend dropping crown pleasers like “Boom Clap” by Charli XCX and “She Looks So Perfect” by 5 Seconds of Summer onto your list as well.

Fun for all

In just a month or two, summer weather will be headed for the hills (sad, we know). So instead of bummin' about the creeping weather changes, take advantage of the beautiful weather while you still can by kicking off a kickball or volleyball tourney at your party! No backyard? No prob. Head to a local park or rec center to wage your sport war.

Blissful bites

Just as crucial as the party playlist is the yummy food you supply your besties with. Serve up platters of summer BBQ staples like hamburgers and hot dogs, pasta salad and fruit salad. With a basic main menu, you will have plenty of wiggle room when it comes to whipping up some uniquely delish desserts. Try out these cutesy Cookout Brownies, this simple recipe for Watermelon Rice Crispies or these Loaded S’mores Bars. You won’t regret it and neither will your taste buds!

Pretty party favors

Your pals deserve the best pressies, don’t they? So grab simple cellophane bags and stuff them with treats that are sure to transition your friends into the new school year. Throw in some adorbs school supplies (like pens from See Jane Work), a playlist of sweet study songs and your fave candies like Skittles or Starburst for when they need that extra sugar rush for studying. Throw in whatever other treats your guests might like, too. Tie the baggies off with a strip of blue ribbon (the color of the ocean, duh!) and voila! You have the ultimate gift bag.
