Dress like your fave book character this Halloween!
We can all agree that our favorite books have some really awesome, kick-butt heroines. So when you are planning your Halloween costume, why not look to some of your favorite titles for a little inspiration? We’ve got the how-to on dressing like your fave lit chick, below.
Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)
Who doesn’t want to be the girl on fire? To get Katniss’ look, don a flowy red dress, fiery red shoes and a token of your district, of course! For your hair, mimic Katniss’ signature side braid.

Mockingjay Pin, $12, thinkgeek.com
Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)
Everybody loves Hermione, but it might be hard to guess your character if you’re just dressed as a muggle. An easy fix? Go for her Hogwarts uniform. Try a plaid skirt with stockings and a V-neck sweater over a collared shirt. Just don’t forget your robes and wand! Snag Hermione’s tangle of waves by curling your hair with a 1-inch barrel iron.
Fairway Tale Navy Blue Sweater, $22, lulus.com
Pleated A-Line Skirt, $18, forever21.com
Hermione’s Wand, $40, thinkgeek.com
Cameron “Cammie” Morgan (Gallagher Girls series)
We wish we could go to a school for spies, even if we had to wear a uniform. Create your own Gallagher Academy uniform with a plaid skirt and a white collared shirt under a sweater vest, then DIY your G.A. patch with a skull and crossbones. Sweet white knee-high socks and black mary-janes seal the deal. You’ll be ready to take down The Circle.
Plaid Skater Skirt, $17, forever21.com
Vintage Late Afternoon Latte Sweater Vest, $20, modcloth.com
Max Ride (Maximum Ride)
Despite her thirteen-foot wingspan, Max dresses like any other girl. Wear jeans and a zip-up moto jacket with feathered angel wings.
Catch You Layered Jacket, $60, modcloth.com
Rubies Soft Feathered Angel Wings, $7, amazon.com
