Kid Made Modern:
Sweet Streaks
It’s too cold outside. There’s nothing on TV. You’ve read all your books. Sigh. You're out of things to do! Lucky for you the book Kid Made Modern by Todd Oldham is chock-full of 52 easy-to-do crafts.
Simple, fun and creative craft projects make this book the best Saturday afternoon boredom buster ever. Most of the materials that ya use are recycled stuff that you can find lyin' around the house (hello, helping the environment!). Clear, colorful pictures guide you through each step of the craft so you'll never make a mistake or have a problem understanding the already-easy directions.
What You'll Need:
Kool-Aid assorted colors (2 packets per color)
Warm water
Hair dryer
Hair conditioner
Aluminum foil
Paint brush
Small bowl
1. Wash and dry hair. In a cup add 2 packets of Kool-Aid to 1/8 cup of warm water, and stir until dissolved.
2. Section off the strands you want to dye and place them into a folded piece of foil. Paint on the Kool-Aid dye, making sure to coat all hairs thoroughly. Fold the foil over and bunch it closed to secure the dye inside.
3. While being careful not to burn the scalp, heat the foil using a blow dryer. Let it cool for 20 minutes. Rinse your hair in cold water, apply a hair conditioner, and let it set for 20 minutes. Rinse and style your new colored locks as you like.
