Editor Obsessions: I Heart Books
My mom said I learned how to read on my own. So, it’s really no surprise my favorite activity as a kid was to read.
New books were almost as good as Christmas morning (and I often loved that morning because I got even more new books). Which is why I always get super bummed when I hear about people who hate to read. I guess you could say I don’t understand it. Not like to read? What?!?! I’m thinking they just never found a book they were interested in because how could one not be obsessed with reading?!
What books are my fave? All of them! I love fiction, romance, mystery, action, dramas, history, the list goes on. I read about vampires (a lot of vampires!), married couples, single girls, Michelle Obama, Madonna. I read advice books, picture books, thick books, thin books. (Am I starting to sound like Dr. Seuss? Because I totally used to read him, too!)
There are so many benefits to reading. You learn about new subjects, new words that you can impress your friends and parents with. You get more creative with your thoughts and your writing improves a great deal (I’ve never met a good writer who didn’t love to read).
If you’re one of those girls who doesn’t like to flip through pages, I suggest you head over to the library and talk to the librarian. Tell them your interests and they will help you pick a book you are guaranteed to love.
Already love reading? What’s your fave book? Series? What are you reading right now? Have you ever spent a whole weekend just reading like I have? Blog it out!
