Plan out your pranks before your guests arrive and let the party begin. Here are a few of our favorite pranks to get you started…

Menu
Every party needs fab food and drinks. We’ve got recipes for a bunch of tricky treats that aren’t exactly what they seem!

Jelly Juice
What you’ll need:
Red Jell-O
Straws (the bendy kind)

What to do:
Make a batch of red Jell-O (just follow the instructions on the box).
Pour the liquid Jell-O into clear juice glasses.
Insert a straw while the mix is still liquid.
Put the glasses in the fridge to let them solidify.
Serve to your guests. They’ll think it’s punch when it’s actually Jell-O. Laugh it up and then give them spoons!

Flakey Faux Fish Sticks
What you’ll need:
Cornflakes
Sugar wafer cookies
Peanut Butter
Seedless strawberry Jam

What to do:
Take the cornflakes and put them in a zip lock baggie. Smash the bag so the flakes become small crumbs. You can use a rolling pin or your hands to do this.
Prepare your sugar wafer cookies by spreading a thin layer of peanut butter on all sides.
Drop the sticky cookies in the cornflake crumbs to coat it completely.
Repeat this until you have enough fish sticks to feed your guests.
Serve with a side of strawberry jam (it’ll look like ketchup!) and enjoy.

Not-So-Grilled Cheese
What you’ll need:
Pound cake
Buttercream frosting
Yellow food coloring

What to do:
Either buy a pound cake or you can make it yourself (Get a great recipe RIGHT HERE!).
Cut the cake into slices so that they look like bread. Typically a slice of breach is 1/2 inch thick.
Take the slices and plop them in the toaster. This way they’ll look grilled.
Take your buttercream frosting (store bought or homemade. CLICK HERE to DIY!) and add yellow food coloring. Three drops should do the trick.
Spread the frosting onto a toasted slice of pound cake.
Top with a second slice to create a sandwich.
Cut the “grilled cheese” sandwich in half diagonally and serve to your guests.

Oh-so-sweet Sushi

What you’ll need:
Marshmallows
White frosting
Coconut
Fruit-by-the-foot (Berry Berry Twist flavor)
Fruits such as kiwi, strawberry and melon (cantaloupe, watermelon, or honeydew)

What to do:
Take a marshmallow and cover the top of it with the white frosting. Then dip it into coconut, so that it sticks to the icing. This will resemble the rice.
Wrap the marshmallow in a fruit-by-the-foot. A dark color like Berry Berry Twist will resemble the seaweed best.
Top your mock sushi with fresh fruits such as strawberry, kiwi and melon.

Serve to your guests with chopsticks! They’ll realize there’s something fishy about this sushi.

Breakfast for the morning after:
Cereal Surprise
What you’ll need:
Cereal (any kind you’d like)
Milk
Blue food coloring

What to do:
Get the cereal bowls ready for your guests by dropping five or six drops of blue food coloring into the bottom of the bowl.
Then pour the dry cereal on top.
Now the fun part! Let your guests pour the milk into their bowl themselves.
As soon as the milk hits the blue food coloring it will turn blue!
Your guests won’t know how that happened. Magic!

Party Pranks
Now it’s time to really open up your bag of tricks. Check out these pranks to get your party started.

Suitcase swap
What to do:
When your guests arrive have them all put their bags in one room and then escort them into the main party area.
While everyone is busy having fun excuse yourself, sneak into the room with the bags and start switching. Take everything out of one bag and put it in another. Repeat with all bags.
When it’s time for bed and everyone goes to put on their PJs, your guests will be totally confused. Sit back and watch the mayhem.
Then offer to help your guests find their stuff and switch back.

Bathroom Booby-Trap
What you’ll need:
Vaseline

What to do:
Before your guests arrive, boobytrap the bathroom by rubbing a thin layer of Vaseline on the inside doorknob.
When you guest goes to leave her hand won’t be able to fully grip the knob to let herself out. This is only funny for about 30 seconds so help a slimed sister out and open the door!

Ghoulish Ghost-story Gag
What to do:
Plan ahead with your rents (or a sib) so that in the middle of a ghost story sesh all the lights in the house go out.
Then have them make scary noises to really freak your guests out!

Pranks for when your guests are asleep:

Shaving Dream
What you’ll need:
Shaving cream
A feather

What to do:
This one’s a classic. At every sleepover, you can almost guarantee that one of your guests will fall asleep way before everyone else. This sleeping beauty will become your unsuspecting victim.
Quietly squirt a dollop of shaving cream into her hand.
Then gently tickle her face with a feather. Going for the nose is a sure-fire way to tickle someone.
When she goes to rub the tickled area her hand full of shaving cream will get all over her face!

Arctic Undies
What to do:
Snoop into a friend’s overnight bag and pull out their change of underwear.
Take the undies and put it into the freezer.
When they go to change and can’t seem to find their underwear, go get their cold ones and hand them to them.

Bubbly Potty
What you’ll need:
Dishwashing soap

What to do:
Put a lot of dishwashing soap in the toilet, so when the next person flushes the water bubbles with a soapy suds.

Alarm Clock Scare

What you’ll need:

A parent who wakes you up in the morning

What you’ll do:

Once on April Fool's Day, I decided to prank my dad. Since he is basically my alarm clock, I decided to totally freak him out. I put stuffed animals under the covers to look like I was still asleep then I hid under the bed. He didn't buy it though. So, as he was about to leave and say I wasn't there, I jumped out from under my bed and yelled "April Fool's!" He was laughing so hard.

Guest Repellent

What you’ll need:

Fake bugs

What you’ll do:

Place a fake bug (plastic or rubber insects work well) and place them so that they are half on the top of the door half on the door frame. That way when the door is opened it will fall straight down onto your unsuspecting victims head.  Let the shrieks begin!
